I try to remember each of the recent things I may have been doing to computer since last seen it go right.

2. I carefully tinker with any settings I suspect might have been changed

Try to familiarize yourself a little with the program(s) that actually play the episodes for you.

+Do your browser's settings affect that?

I found once I can change a setting in my browser that completely shuts off all photo images -so I click them one by one to see them. But I put it back to normal.
