I had a Thinkpad that did something similar. First thing to do is back up and save everything you care about. Get a flash drive, burn a CD, upload to a place on net. That way if your laptop like mine is giving warnings that it is about to die your loss is minimized. Make 2 copies of anything irreplacable...which of course you (and I ) shpuld have done to start with.
Check your purchase date pronto bec most come with a lest a 1 yr servioce contract or waranty. If it is still under waranty this is a no brainer. It is their problem they should fix it and fix it free. The cause could be as simple as a loose connection or as major as a motherboard but once you open the case it's your problem not theirs so don't. If you can extend waranty or have a longer service contract that is the way bto go and go quickly.
This sounds more like a hardware problem not a software or virus problem. Unless you know computer repqair well - and if you did this questuion probably would not be here this is a job for the pros. If it were an older computer I might say make it something to learn on but it's not.
on the face of it, it sounds like a bad connection from the mainboard to the screen. Have you tried connecting it to an external monitor? If you do this and the monitor does not display the same symtoms, you will need to have it opened up and the connection repaired.
I'd try calling/emailing the company that made it and ask them. If its a common problem that they have had a lot of complaints about they may fix it free of charge!
if you have had it less than a year take it back and get it mended under warrenty
