I've had my laptop for a couple months now and it has never given me any trouble. Today, I inserted a CD and it said there was no CD in the drive. I tried again. Same response.
I tried other CDS and DVDS and it continued saying there was no CD in the drive.
I have an Acer Extensa 4420 laptop with Windows Vista.
Can you please help me?

If you see a drive, then the laser is probably bad. Take the cd drive out, take the battery out, unplug it and let it sit for about two hours. Plug the cd drive back in, put the battery in and restart the laptop. Let me know if this works. [email protected] if not
reinstall your cd drivers
if that does not work you should still have your warrantee. They should replace your cd drive for free
install Itunes or something like that or a dvd player thing in it so it will reconize it. if you already have that, then idk.
dumb lap top.
