I let my two parakeets explore the room for a bit, and left the cage door open for when they wanted to go back. They were out for a while, and then my older, more experienced boy (Jagg) went in no problem. My new young one (dezmond) followed him of course, but he just climbed on top of the cage. It seems he WANTS to be inside, but he can't find the door or grasp the concept that there is one. Should I put him in there myself or will he figure it out eventually?

Well it seems you have a small door in their. . .well just make the room dark and ctch the bird WITH a towel so you dont stress them. . .u should buy a big cage with 2 doors, one small and one big and i bet u can afford one for ur two pet birds. . .or make a ladder that goes through the door, btw if its their first time to go outside, you should limit them because if u let them too long, they might go in that easy. . .thats what happen to my finches . . .it took me a hard time now to cage them .....but its okay cause they are tame. Also u should put a perch close to the door so they can find it easily
Btw if u catch it with ur bearhand. . .ur going to stress them and they will get scared of u and it will be hard to tame them if u catch them cause birds hate to be grab
Nothing wrong with putting him in there your self. Go ahead.
