My presario compaq laptop is having problems....help?
Hi, i turned on my comp. and the password area wouldn't let me type so i turned it off figuring it was temperamental. Then later i tried turning it on and just the comp is running, the monitor is black. What happened and how do i fix it?

Sounds like some component on the mother board may be going bad... Try to borrow a monitor from a PC and connect it to the back of your laptop. If you are able see anything then that means its your laptop monitor that bad. If you cant see anything then it likely that the onboard video card has failed.
Either way you maybe looking at "costly repairs" if your laptop is not under warranty. Sorry.
