The monitor lcd is designed for reviewing photos taken, and setting the camera before shooting. It doesn't have instant access to the aperture & shutterspeed information. Those functions are designed into the top control panel, where the f/stop and shutterspeed are constantly shown, along with metering and flash information.
You CAN set your monitor lcd to display the f/stop and shutterspeed used with each photo, after it's taken.
