If your friend believes there might be paranormal activity, then she might want to look for the following signs:

does she have cold spots in the house where there is no explanation

Does she get chills before acts of random issues

is there a particular place where these things tend to occur?

My thought is that if there were any activity, a spirit was playing with the plant. There might not be a message so much as there might have been curiosity or maybe, the entity didn't like the ficus?!?

Why is a spirit in the house? WHo lived in the house? what is the history of the house. If not attached to the house, then the spirit would be attached to the land, what was on the land prior to the house being built?

Ghost can attacth themselves to people, typically people who are freindly and out going. Ghosts can also attach them selves to property too, so look for items acquired prior to the paranormal activity.

Ghosts tend to act out their lives so if the ghost had a green thumb, that ghost would tend to hang out around plants. If the ghost had allergies, then the ghost would tend to avoid the things in death that it avoided in life.

If your friend had a spirit that lived in the house prior to her, it might want to adjust the house to the state it was in prior to her moving in. Sometimes just talking to the spririt can resolve any issues. Your friend will have to do some sleuthing to find out the history of the house, the land, and what types of activities might have occurred there. She might even have a spirit that didn't die there, but lived there and returned to a favorite location during life. Research the local!

as far as a tree falling over, the soil around the tree may have been either too dry or too wet and the roots were no longer able to stay in the ground. The tree may have grown crooked, now if there were strange marks on the tree or somthing to suggest it was pushed over by some other-worldly thing, that would be another story.

As far as the other stranged things that happen in this woman's house: buring of sage in a house is supposed to ward of evil spirits, my friend just bought a house and she had her sister burn sage. Also concider contacting a priest to bless the house; believe it or not people have thier house's blessed all the time.

Did your friend recently have a relative or loved one pass? This may be them letting her know that they are with her.. A similar experience happened to me many years ago. I was watching a show on the tv, and all of a sudden the small trash can near the sewing machine just fell over. I was the only one in the room and my dog was in the other part of the house.This really freaked me out. The window was shut, so there was no breezes blowing. It just fell over. My grandmother, who I was very close to, had passed away a few months earlier. To this day, I think it was her telling me that she was in the room with me. There have also been times when a knick knack has fallen off the shelf. And my dog sometimes would be sitting there, and all of a sudden he would start moving his head around like he was following something floating in the air. Then he would start growling. Very scary. Your friend must have a spirit of a loved one in the house. This is the way "they" communicate with "their" loved ones.

This territory had a stronghold of demons over it, not to mention one man (Personal stronghold-possession) who had a legion of demons in him. Mark 5:9. Jesus freed the man, and in so doing freed the territory of its stronghold/haunting. When the demons went into the swine, the demons did not like the swine, so they drown the swine, this also killed the pigs that the Pagan worshippers used to sacrifice to their God's and killed that business off as well. Jesus healed the land and killed the Pagan worshipping (they used the pigs to sacrifice for food for their god’s) business for a time. My point is, demons are Ghosts and dead people are not.

I grew up with 'weird things' happening to me all the time. Lights coming on and off, tv and vcr turning off and on, doors opening and closing, feeling watched, being touched on the face, having my hair pulled, being nudged, things being moved. It's probably a ghost. Your friend can either one of two things. Talk to it and acknowledge it, like I did. Or tell it it's dead, go to the light, go home, go find peace, etc. I rather enjoyed my ghost. I had a touch lamp in my bedroom so when I would wake up in the mornings I'd ask it to turn the light on for me and it would. I had a friend of mine staying at my house for awhile who didn't quite believe me until I told her to say hello to it. When she did, my closet door opened. It totally freeked her out.
