PCOS and prego symptoms ?
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and in October had a cyst surgically removed. Unfortunately my docs left me with almost no info about this rotten diagnoses. Simply all they told me was I have it and would probably have to have meds to get knocked up... Previous to the surgery I have always had irregular menstrul cycle but now for the past 3 months have had it regular. However I should have started my period last week and haven't. I also have been experiencing quite a few pregnancy symptoms. I took a home prego test and showed negative result. Just curious if you have PCOS do your hcg levels not show as fast as someone thy doesn't have it. Could I in fact be preg! I don't have insurance do I am not lookin for go to the docs as an answer.

PCOS does not mean that you will need meds to get pregnant although there is the possibility. I was diagnosed years ago an most doctors don't know enough about it to really explain it to you. I've had to educate myself. There are some pretty good support websites and books available for information. As far as your missed period my guess is the PCOS. Its not unusual for women with PCOS to be regular for a few months and then skip for 3 or 4.
I would definitely suggest finding out as much as you can about your diagnosis. PCOS can affect so much more than just your reproductive health.
Taking off a cyst could help your fertility, and having PCOS doesn't mean you can't get pregnant without meds, it just means it's a lot harder.
The regularity may have been a fluke, but it may not have. I think a test would be more accurate if you take it 10-14 days after you think you ovulated, or the last time you had sex.

It is really hard to get pregnant with PCOS. The doc is right you have to take meds to get pregnant. I took them for 5 days and i got pregnant that fast. Your most likely not, PCOS has nothing to do with your hcg levels. Sometimes with PCOS you can miss a whole month without having a period.
