I have a family that has a 7 week old baby wanting me to take family portraits of them in the park.
They want some taken of him by himself in the park, as well. Being as young as he is and unable to really get up and move around, what are some cute ideas that I could use to get good, unique, photos of him? I've already thought about getting a fall-colored quilt or table cloth to lay him on on the ground- but any other ideas?

whatever you do shoot at eye level, it engages the viewer with the subject (baby)
aviod coloured quilts, use a solid colour instead, to much going on on the quilt will make the images appear "noisy"
the lenses shouldnt be facing the ground anyway
a
Find yourself an empty cardboard box with the capacity to hold the baby.
Place on the ground near a large body of water like a lake or small pond.
Have a female friend warp a white cloth around her head and set near the box with her hands to her face in a look of amazement
Frame the shot so all elements are in the photo.

Water in background
A nun with a look of discovery
Then make the headline
"Sisters of Faith Find Baby Washed Up On Shore"
Note in box reads:
Hello, my name is (Have this name the name of the baby you are to photograph) and I have been abandoned by a family of gypsies on an island off the coast of South America.
You will get many years of fun from this one as the baby grows into adulthood.
go to the park and collect leaves in bin bags buy white sheeting to use as a backdrop 6m if you don't have room in house tack to a wall outside and run the material down the wall and across the floor to loos the floor and wall line and put the leaves on the sheet and dress the models in colorful cloths get them to play around and in the leaves sweets bubbles and toys are great to get attention for the child
good luck
How about propping him up on a bale of hay with some leaves and maybe even some corn stalks as decorations. Try laying him on his belly (like he's sleeping) on a large pumpkin (While Mom is holding him up - of course!) Kinda of a tough one since he's so small! Good luck!
Hmmm... What about building a leaf pile and putting the baby in it so you can only see his eyes? Since it's fall, maybe focus on things we think of as typically fall? Try sitting him next to a pumpkin.
Set up a picnic scene... with the baby propped up in the picnic basket...
