I'm currently a sophomore - Liberal Studies Major( planning on becoming an elementary school teacher). Recently I became became a double Liberal Studies/ Child Development Major(mostly because I was taking a lot of the classes for work anyways, so I figure I might as well.)
Anyways, I've always been very interested in Politics and Criminals Justice and I am especially very interested in the education system in America. I am thinking about minoring in Political Science.
Two Problems: 1) I want to graduate in four years. I can become a liberal studies major/ political science Minor--but that might set me back some. 2) I don't know If minoring in Political science will help me at all. I am thinking about it because I get so frustrated with the state of things--I really want to do something, but I know in my heart being an elementary school teacher is for me. And I don't know if Political science minor is going to look weird on a resume.
Thoughts?

I think a minor in political science is a move as long as it is only a minor. I have a bachelors degree in political science and that was a mistake because there are no jobs out there at all. The best thing you can do is talk to an academic adviser at your school. They will be able to help you work out a schedule so that you will graduate on time. You might have to take some of your classes at your local community college during the summer to keep up. Also I am a little worried about your major. A major in child development usually does not lead to a degree in elementary education. Most schools have a major specifically called elementary education. You should also speak with your academic adviser about this (I don't want you to end up going to school longer than you have too). Also make sure that you graduate with a degree in elementary education instead of a degree in early childhood education. There is a big difference between the two and an elementary school degree will give you many more career options. I know this because both my mother and my brother are elementary school teachers and I had a friend who made that mistake and now the only place she can find a job is a preschool where she makes $8.50 an hour. She is now going back to school to get her elementary certification. I am also a teacher. I have a masters degree in secondary education and teach high school government. I hope this helps! Good luck with your studies! I am sure you will do just fine.
PS: We always need good elementary school teachers you guys provide the building blocks for a successful student!
Political technological know-how is between the least confusing matters to earn an A in. All of my courses from playstation have been user-friendly As, they have been in simple terms readings and a few essays inquiring for evaluations. i could propose to easily decide for it provided that a) you have an expressed interest and b) it enhances your significant Liberal learn.
