And heat has nothing to do with how much sun you can get. You turn tan from being in the SUN, not the HEAT. but, yeah, you should be warm enough to take off all your clothes. Even go in the water!

I live in this part of the world and you will need to be very careful at this time of year if you are very pale. Most Brits go to Portugal and within a day they look like crab sticks. Best idea is to take it slow at first and use nothing lower than sun block factor 25. It's wonderful to strip off but's not good to spoil your holiday because of too much sun.

I'm very brown all over, but even I cover up when the sun is very strong. Wear a hat when you are out in the hot midday sun.

Trust me, i'm in portugal now on holiday and it is BOILING!! late august see's temps of 25 degrees celcius. if your very pale make sure u wear a factor 20 suncream every day, and reapply every hour or so. if your that desperate to make your friends jelous buy the bananaboat dry tanning mist, you can buy this in any boots or superdrug stores. make sure u dnt burn because that will not tan in time and it will ruin your holiday. have fun!

If you are very pale, you should use loads of protection because you can blister within twenty minutes in that sun and then your holiday is spoilt.
