I have a prayer service to do for gr12 religion. It isn't a p.s. other than that it has prayers and bible readings, but is more of a class presentation. Anywho, the course is about social justice. Our topic must be a very specific one and relate to social justice. We must also include a class activity (ex. if we were doing environmental problems, an activity would be picking up garbage), as well as write a letter to an organization that deals with the specific issue.
After a bit of researching I came across Jena 6, and Guantanomo Bay. I'm just having a bit of trouble thinking of an activity for the class or finding an organization I could contact that deals with J.6, I know Amnesty International is with G.
I thought it would be interesting if I could find an issue that deals with children, and maybe as an activity have the class write letters to them, like a pen pal?
I'd like to do something different and yet interesting. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please and thank you. :)

You might want to tackle the psychological and social ramifications for a child who is being raised by a single parent.
You could interview children being raised by a single parent and ask them about five negative and five positive implications.
Then, consolidate the answers and give a summary of the children's thoughts.
I would avoid the Jena 6 issue as a class project. All of the information on the internet is mostly on black blogs containing lies and you would have to do a lot of research as I did to find what the truth is regarding the Jena 6 issue.
