I was working for a demolition company and I managed to pick up a pretty descent air compressor for 200$ outta one of the buidlings. Its about 3.5 feet long with triple cylinders. It was hooked up directly to the building but its not 240v or wtv. Its 140 so I've been told by electricians I can replace the power cord for a 120 to be plugged into regular 120 household outlets. I'm just curious how much these things go for in price used if I decide to sell it. I'm in canada too btw for american answers.

Its not 140volts that is for sure, look an the machine it will tell you what voltage it is, or can handle, odds are if it was in a commercial building it is 208, 240, or 440 vac three phase, and is not something you can just put a cord on and use at home. Without knowing make and model of the compressor I can't say for sure on what you have.
I think you did not hear your electrician right. There is no such thing as 140 volts in the world, well sort of, but that would take way too long to explain. Lets just say it would be a mistake if you ended up with 140 volts no matter the amp's pulled. Electricity is all about math, and it would be very hard to create 140 volts with regularity.
There are many three cylinder air compressors, some single stage, some two stage. Really hard to say what yours is worth. Make, model, and google should point you in the right direction.
140 volt....? wtv...what does that mean?
