Problems with Compaq Presario F577CL?
Anyone else having problems with a Compaq Presario F577CL laptop? My wireless has stopped working, the cd burner will burn dvd's, but not cd's, and it recently won't turn on at all. The battery has power. When i push the power button, the power light comes on for a second or two, and then turns off again. I have tried leaving it plugged in and turning it on with out the battery. I have also left it unplugged from power all together. Is it just bad parts in this particular laptop? I have had good success with other Compaqs.

The wireless is probably off because the wireless radio button has turned it off.
Newer laptops with wireless built in usually have a button or a switch that enables and disables the wireless broadcast.
Check the users manual on how to do so.
As far as it not turning on, the computer is having a hardware related issue. Compaq's have 1 year warranties, so if it is still under warranty, you should bring it in for service. Most likely you just got one that has a minor hardware issue.
Find out if there is a local service center for Compaq computers, Best Buy is one of them. Bring it there and tell them what happened. They will either fix it or replace it.
Make sure the receptable you are plugging the PC cord into has power, by testing it with a lamp or sumpthin'. HP and Compaq both have poor batteries. If direct plugging into a good wall socket doen't work, you probably have a defective power supply.
