Part of the problem with Prop 8 was that 'no' meant 'yes' and that could have confused some.

I voted to allow gay marriage as i do not see what the REAL problem is with it. Is there even a REAL problem? Or are folks of the opinion that if little Johnny hears of this, he will go "Does that mean I can marry my best friend Bob? Neato!" just because it is "hip" and "chic" to be gay?

I think it's pretty safe for interracial marriage now. But the correlation is there, else the CASC wouldn't have felt the need to explicitly differentiate in its decision on gay marriage last year.

Back in the 50s my grandmother caught hell for a "mixed" marriage to my grandfather. Fast forward a few decades and now I've got to worry that my son won't be allowed to marry if he's gay. What a load of BS. Marriage is all about love; people who try to block marriage rights are all about hate. I just wish they'd all find a new hobby and leave the rest of us alone.

today, of course not many people want to ban interracial marriage, as society has grown used to giving interracial couples equal rights.

50 years after gays get equal rights (whenever that is..), society also won't have a problem with gay marriage.

it's all about growing accustomed to, you know.. not discriminating against people.

if straight ppl can engage on interracial mariages when most ppl of their race is straight..y shouldn't we as gay ppl not be able to do when there's many of us in any race?

prop 8 passing was a step back and verry frustraing but some states are working really hard towads it so i think it will change soon i least i hope so!

I would of not banned any kind of marriage between two people no matter what. I think its wrong to tell some people they cant marry, but others can. Thats not equality at all.

prop 8 was to regulate marriage to mean only a man and a woman, and was not in any way about race. prop 8 / passed and is great/ now you can get married only if straight! get used to it!!!

prop 8 wasn't on interracial marriage, it was against same sex marriage.
