why are scientists having such a hard time finding a protein component of the NPC in prokaryotic cells?
Nuclear pore component in prokaryotic cells is hard to find because they lack a nucleus.
My guess would be that because its prokaryotic, its just floating around in the cells' cytoplasm and it would be difficult to find the nucleuoid...
