I have a new apartment and on my back patio a raccoon pushed my screen door's screen in and is nested between the two doors. It is very big, fat. we propped the door open but it will not move, will not leave. it is alive though. it is not showing any aggressive behavior. we tap on the door to try to get it to move and it only hides its head in the corner or under it's paws. why is the raccoon acting this way? what is normal raccoon behavior.

Its not normal for any wild animal not avoid human contact. Its very possible this raccoon has rabies or some other mental disease. Call animal control and report a strange acting raccoon. Let the pros remove it. They have the equipment to move it safely without direct contact.
Maybe it will leave when it's ready to. Don't take matters into your own hands if you decide something needs to be done. Call animal control instead. They should remove it. You will probably regret it later if you start beating it with a broom handle or shovel or something. So don't do that or let one of your friends do that. I think I'd kinda like a raccoon hanging around my place for a little while anyways. Maybe you should feed it! And, I hope it doesn't have rabies, but it sounds like it could have a problem because it is acting strange. Good luck.
PS There is an oppossum that visits under my bird feeders every night. Wildlife can be cute little buggers.
I doubt it has rabies if it's not aggressive, although I wouldn't touch it just to be safe.
If it's fat and nesting, as you described, there's a good chance it's a pregnant female.
If it's that important for you to get it moved, I'd just call animal control.
so you would rather post a problem about this and seek help from ppl on this site instead of calling a local animal services to deal with it...ok
ps better not touch it, it might have rabies.
I would suggest calling out either animal control or a wildlife refuge to see if they can come and remove the animal
it could have rabies.... rabies will make an animal act very strange
or it could have been someones pet... and it just wants to be taken care of
