For those that don't know it's a clinic that treats children that have eating disorders and i was wondering if a child had a fear of choking to the extent of refusing food would rhodes farm treat them? or do they only treat anorexic/bulimic kids? And also if the fear of choking led to severe weight loss would it be classified as anorexia or is that just the fear of weight

umm i know it.. i went to ellern mede , i went to huntercombe which are also clinics in london. i am pretty sure they treat lots of disorders including the one you are discribing which is a very dangerous eating disorder as it does too lead to dramatic weight loss ! but i wouldnt always recomend going as being around all the other anorexic girls can lead you in the wrong direction and begin to have anorexic thoughts and that would be horrid seeing that you already have an eating disorder. try and come over your fear and eat food you would not normally eat a day .... gain weight by eating calorific high fat ffods...
if this does not work then maybe try the clinic or look for other general clinics..
hope this helped take care sweetie and hoep you get better!!!x

hello :) their is alot on youtube about rhodes farm. their is a bbc documentary about it and shows your around the place, basically shows you exactly what people with ED do in there and what goes on in their day to day life. unfortunatly i dont have enough time to search for the video but there is a nice documentary about it so your'll have to have a little wonder round youtube or the bbc website... It seems like a really nice place to help people recover from ED. good luck with whatever your going through. x
Losing weight through having a fear of choking, is nothing like Anorexia or Bulimia. It sounds more like OCD to me. To answer your question, no, Rhodes Farm would not even consider admitting someone who has a fear of choking, for obvious reasons. Although, a psychiatrist would be more then willing to speak to them.
No, they wouldn't treat it. It's totally different, it's just an anxiety disorder.
Plus Rhodes Farm costs thousands and thousands of pounds - do you or your parents have that kind of money?
