I want to go on the RCI Navigator of the Seas and my mom wants to go n the Norwegian Pearl. She want 2 go on the ncl because it cost less and this is going to sound weird but, because it has a giant chessboard for my brother. My mom is afraid that on the Navigator there wont be anything for my bro to do because he isn't the most athletic person.

I have not been on the NCL's Pearl but I have been on its twin sister the Gem AND I have been on two of the twins of the Navigator, the Adventure and the Mariner of the Seas. Its my experience that there is much more for kids to do on Royal Caribbean ships than on the NCL ships.
First of all, like most cruise lines both ships have programs for kids. The RC's kids programs (for those 3 to 17) are in the Adventure Ocean part of the ship that is reserved for kids. There is a teen disco as well as other areas with supervised activities all day. In addition, the RC ship has an in-line skating track (it has padded walls), a mini-golf course, an ice skating rink, a basketball court, the rock climbing wall, a video arcade, a game room for table games, and I am pretty certain that it also has the chess/checker board and shuffle board places on the deck in the kid's Adventure Ocean area.
It been my experience that RC has much more to offer for kids than NCL. So I say if the cost is close and the itinerary is the same, go with the RC Navigator.
Sorry, yet absolutely everyone that has ever been on the two a Royal Caribbean and a Norwegian permit you already know that Norwegian is a lots greater suitable cruise. they do no longer even belong in te comparable classification. That mentioned, the Royal is greater value-effective.
Price is a factor people have to consider today. All cruise lines try to offer something for everyone of all ages. Maybe your brother could get a travel chess board to take with him. I found it handy on the plane, airports & ship. If you do not get your wish do not let it spoil your cruise. All of you will have a great time no matter what ship. Keep an open mind and you will have a blast. Remember what one person likes the next may not.
Go to this site for some information on both of the these ships. Friends of ours cruised on the NCL Pearl and loved the ship. NCL is a freestyle type of cruise. No set hours for dinner, plus you don't have to get all dressed up at night. Check it out.
