I take 100MG of Seroquel XR each night before bed for insomnia. The next morning though, it is so hard to get out of bed. It makes me like really tired and exhausted all day throughout school, and my eyes really droopy. My friend even called me a stoner today haha.
Is this a side effect of Seroquel? Is there anything I should do in the morning to make me more awake? I usually drink 1-2 glasses of tea before I go to school, but that doesn't help so much. And the warm shower doesn't help too much either.

Seroquel affects your nervous system, even if you drank a gallon of pure caffeine you wouldn't really wake up anymore. Seroquel is a sedative. The xr isn't as strong as regular seroquel, but it does last longer up to 24 hours. This is the reason why some can't tolerate either regular or xr of seroquel. I was on 400mg of reg Seroquel at night and it made me unable to even walk sometimes. The xr wasn't as bad but i still stay clear of it as much as possible. Ask to be put on something else if it effects you this bad. After a few weeks of taking it consistantly the effects wore down for me.
convinced and holy crap your on alot yet i became to now i in uncomplicated words take Valium...i became on 300mgs Seroquel and it made me soooooo drained that i'd sleep 0.5 the day..i took it for insomnia
try to take less than 100mg, that's a lot! 25mg helps me to sleep and on 50mg i sleep as tight as a 10 years old and feel like **** on the next day.
Consider cutting your dose in half. Check with your doctor first.
