Just wondering if someone could explain to me what exactly it includes?, my mum had been battling cancer since near the beginning of my A2 year, and my exam board have applied for special consideration for the summer exams.

The school applies to the exam board(s) for special consideration and, if accepted, the exam board gives you an extra few % (probably 2-3%) above the mark you actually scored. The fact you got this does not show on your certificates.
I'm guessing it will mean, at worst, a chance to re-sit your exams, or at best a designation of 'special consideration'. The latter if you almost passed anyway; just missed the 50%.
In other words they've given you the benefit of the doubt.
Expect the exam board to write explaining in more detail. If not, however, just ask a senior teacher back at your school. I think they'll know.
That dreadful disease is quite common nowadays. I hope your mum beats it. And soon...
