Bonjour. (: So I'm going on a trip to France for roughly a month as a foreign exchange student. Now, the only luggage I have is the kind with the lock on the suitcase, am I allowed to bring these with? I really don't have the money to buy new ones right now. THey are an older set of suitcases, so the locks are built into them. Tips?

You will LOVE France! Lucky, lucky you! Do not worry about your old suitcases. They will know they are older and have locks on them. Just because they will not let you lock your suitcases does not mean we all have to go out and buy new luggage. Just do not lock them! :) Make sure you put everything of importance into your carry-on. Your money, passport, camera, electronics...you know. That carry-on can be pretty big - I haul my backpack with me, and have taken quite a load on with me. Then put the lesser important things into the suitcase. Also all of the liquids that you are taking! You know that TSA looks through some suitcases, but they leave a note inside telling you they were there. No big deal, as they wrap everything back up and leave it fine-it happens to my suitcases everytime. I traveled just last week with a suitcase that had locks....no problem at all! Again, enjoy France!
Do not lock your checked bags. I secure mine with cable ties, which in
the last 3 or 4 years have not been disturbed.
if its locked they will break it open. you are not allowed to lock your luaggage anymore
stores like ross, marshalls, tj maxx have really inexpensive luggage and you can also buy big duffel bags for cheaper price than luggage if you need to be thrifty
