My friend is getting married on September 22, 2007. They want to immediately go on their honeymoon but are looking for the cheapest, most efficient trip possible. They have passports and are open to anywhere in the world. They are looking for the longest, cheapest honeymoon possible that still has basic comfort elements. The one exception is they don't want to take a cruise! Can you guys give some unique ideas? Thanks in advance!
Update:my friend lives in northeast tennessee in the united states

Well, without knowing where they are, I think going to the Grand Canyon would be nice. They have beautiful accomodations, and you could take a helicopter ride over. It's not too far from Vegas. I'd also look at Niagra Falls or New York. If they are into wine, go stay in Napa Valley.
Ok, now I know they are in TN...they should consider New Orleans. Not only is there tons of stuff to do, they could stay in a nice place, so spa stuff, go on tours and boat rides...I just went there a few months ago and it is a very sexy place. It wouldn't be far for them to go but it is like nowhere else. or Key West....
If they really want to only spend this money, they may be better off getting a nice room nearby where they live and saving the rest. You can not fly anywhere for less than $300 for 2 people. You can not fly anywhere nice for less than $400. A rent-a-car will cost at least $100 + gas. So, you basically have $500. A lousy room in a nice place could be $135 a night and meals will be $100 per day if you eat at mediocre qulaity restuarants. I don't think it would be worth it to spend $1,000 goign away for what is basically a long weekend and low quality.
You are asking for a lot with little money. why don't they take a driving honeymoon, rent an RV if nessisary and go exploring their own country they will find beauty everywhere and they'll only pay for gas and food and every night's camp ground, which will run them about $25 to $50 a night depending where they go.

It is based in Ireland and provides really cheap accommodation, car hire and flights etc. It also has loads of really fun activities for the 18-35 age group, which are all available to book and pay for on-line.
well depending on where you live its generally hard to go on a honeymoon for that little.. i say rent a car and drive to montreal.. its a nice city.. especially at this time of the year its a real nice place.. check out like ottawa while you're at it.. you can't fly and stay at a hotel for a grand.. you could get a decent hotel at montreal for like 80-100 bucks a night.. so four nights and spend the rest of the money on whatever u do there..
I recommend El Nido or Club Noah in palawan for their budget. Guaranteed satisfaction. you can send me email for more information you may need.
