Old treadmill just died and I've gotta home gym. What should I get for cardio? $1000 or less.
Update:Rick D., your home must not be a frozen tundra much of the year. Don't get me wrong, I'm out there in the ice & snow, but jogging is a no go for me. Need the convenience.
T-Bone, I don't see how putting my leg behind my neck is gonna do much for me. Glad it's working for you, though.

Treadmill.
I like the treadmill better but its a personal choice. Some say an Elliptical is less stressful on your knees. But with a good treadmill I like how you can change the speed and incline.
I'd try out both of them at the store, then decide for yourself.
I would say to get a treadmill if you really like to run because you can change the incline and speed to have various workouts. But, if you get bored from running, like me, I would get an ellipitical. It is better for your knees, like others have mentioned, and you can change it up a bit too with the incline as well as resistance. Also, it could run outside in most weather.
Elliptocal
Eliptical
Save the money and go jogging outside.
elliptical by far. easier on the joints(knees etc...). hard workout too.
yoga dvd's, and spend $950 on something better
