Some sites state error 45 indicates a problem with your server or may be caused by a slow internet speed. For users with slow internet connections using the Basic format of Yahoo Mail is recommended.
i recommend you try clearing your cache and cookies, switch to Basic format or switch web browsers - for example, if you are using Internet Explorer close the page and re-connect using Chrome or Firefox. If you continue to receive error code 45 you'll need to contact Yahoo customer care to resolve this error. Please be aware that since many people are currently reporting this problem Yahoo is overwhelmed with email from other users and may not be able to process your request immediately. i encourage you to please be patient while Yahoo attempts to fix this problem.
Me too, but it is only certain emails. I can open emails from facebook for notifications. But not from TED talks, or personal emails that came in from individuals. I can open them from my phone though. Error 45. I am in Ottawa - Gatineau area Canada. Big storm here and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. My internet is working fine though.
Workaround for now: switch to Basic Mail - sign in to Yahoo! Mail, move your cursor over the gear icon top right and select mail options. Scroll all the way down on the "general" options page, check "basic mail", click save. There have been reports by other users that this works...

That seems to be a glitch which Yahoo is already aware of, but so far they weren't able to fix it:
