Koopa i hate to argue with you but your dead wrong. its not the file itself but the emulator. some games use what is known as a bios file that controls certain aspect of the game like sound or graphics. VBA is very dependent on bios if the game does not work right. some of the older games VBA can emulate bios calls perfectly but in newer games 2005-2007 will require a bios to work. I have uploaded my bios iamge to rapidshare to those who are interested. the links below

Have you looked in the 'Joypad' menu item yet?
Options>>Joypad>>Configure>>1 || 2 || 3 || 4
The Default inputs are as follows: (Just as reference)
Up: Up Arrow
Down: Dwn Arrow
Left: Lft Arrow
Right: Rght Arrow
A: X
B: Z
L: A
R: S
Select: bckspc
Start: Enter
Speed: Spc
Capture: F12
GS: C

Visual Gameboy Advance
Arrow keys to move.
The Z key is equivilant to the "A" button on a GBA.
The X key is "B".
Space is for turbo.
Controls can be edited anyway by clickling something called maple in the setup.
First off you dont really need there controls to play it just go to options joypad 1 and set your controls to your preferences :) hope i helped
