Real estate involves large transactions of $$$$$$$$ so the lawyer needs to make sure everything is kosher , like No liens or other claims to a piece of property someone is trying to sell .
Also , the buyers attorney should attempt to discover any issues that neg impact like old toxic dumping , flood plain or landslide issues , construction defects etc .
I doubt a real estate lawyer would have sufficient diversity to enable a political run but stranger things have happened .
Being a lawyer can be very fulfilling. Real estate lawyers deal with legal issues relating to real proprty. They handle closings, draft contracts, draft other documents, etc., all having to do with real estate. They help buyers structure real estate deals to their advantage. I believe that real estate lawyers have very dry and boring existences. I have been a civil trial lawyer for 35 years and I love it. You get to go to court and present your case/defense. Nothing like being the center of attention in the courtroom as you question witnesses!
