Hi, I've been taking Cymbalta for 3 days now. I've been taking it in the evening at around 8pm. Just lately, I've been waking up every hour of the night and in the morning, I feel exhausted. I have headache in the morning, my pupils go bigger and smaller, I'm constantly yawning and don't want to do anything at all. I read that the half-life of Cymbalta is 12 hours... I have 2 questions- 1: When do the tiredness symptoms stop (or when did they stop for you) 2: If I took it in the morning, would I feel more alert throughout the day? (I get the impression that it's working it's best when I'm asleep cos I take it late) thanks...

I took Cymbalta for about a month at night, and it gave me terrible insomnia. I would wake up at night and feel so alert that I had to spend an hour on the computer before I could get back to sleep.
Now I am taking Cymbalta first thing in the morning and have no side effects or tiredness at all. As you probably know, many of us react to meds differently. However, I suggest you try taking it in the morning.
The other possibility is that side effects sometimes wear off after a few weeks or a month. However, I guess you don't want to be a guinea pig and spend a month with almost no sleep.
By the way, I (finally) have a great shrink, and he started me off on 30 mg for two weeks and then 60 mg after that. That is probably the best way to start Cymbalta. I wish you the best.
