I was playing sonic on an emulator on my computer and the phone rang, so I paused the game and got the phone. When I came back to play the computer was on the boot up screen and restarting. What just happened?
Update:I'm talking about the computer in my room (it doesn't have internet so it couldn't have been a virus)

power supply issue ?
If you have windows vista, check the problems and reports section in the control panel. That might be able to tell you what happened. Your computer may also have installed automatic updates and restarted itself. It depends on how you have auto update set up.
If it was a laptop, then your battery might have run out. If you had Dial-Up, you might have corrupted it and it rebooted for its safety. With VIsta, it has many safety precautions to make sure it won't overheat or do anything bad. So it could be a virus trying to install it self (aka. trojan horse or malicious software) or it could be overheating. It probabely rebooted for its own safety.
You got a virus.
power went off then on
