Hello Racin;
One last thing to suggest.
'My Computer" open and RIGHT click on "Drive C:\" and down to Properties. Your looking at the amount room left that should be at least 1/4 or more of empty space.. Now, On the top menu is "TOOLS" When open then you will find the "Error Check Disk" .. When you click on that there are 2 boxes to check then OK. WAIT..You see the message that it can not do this now and ask if want to begin this rebooting. Yes..
Like defraging it takes a while and often I will alternate every night before going to bed and let them work while sleeping.
Last; On Compac site with the information from the bottom of your computer will take you to the computer's page where you can find how much you can upgrade ..80gb drive? 1gb more RAM?
Should be able to find that information there.
Sounds like you got all the bases covered. OH,,One last thing. Do you watch the "Tasks Manager"? There is been a recent problem with a file called "ccvHost.exe" that is a "Norton file and a conflict with recent XP upgrade. If so; Search, Yahoo/Google and you can learn about why it is taking so much processor.
Good luck
