I've noticed in the last few days that Yahoo! may not be as 'free and open' as most would expect. As far as I know, we still live in a society of free speech, where people may ask perfectly reasonable questions on such topics as the government, royal family, and issues about MP's.
Or do we?
Just one example of the Yahoo! Police: a person asked a question about Princess Diana's death, and it was suspiciously removed by Yahoo! Why? I'm not saying that the question itself was the best I've seen, nor was I all that interested in it, but it seems to have triggered a knee-jerk reaction from Yahoo! that raises more questions than the Diana question did.
Have you had a question deleted that seemed perfectly sane and within reason? Are you sick of being told what you can and can't say or ask? Treated like a child?
I think it's important we keep an eye on such behaviour - it smacks of control to many.

YES, I HAVE HAD 3 QUESTIONS DELETED FROM YAHOO QUESTIONS. WHATS UP WITH THAT..
I seriously dont think its Yahoo doing it. I mean they ARE removing it and taking our points, BUT the real reason they are being removed is becuz some jerk is out there reporting ppl for their entertainment. Just to be mean, while thinking they are being funny.
Its gotten rediculous, and Yahoo needs to fix this out of control problem. First thing they need to do is start reading these reports. That would be help.
Yes, Ive had things removed that were NOT offensive and completely innocent as well. Its very unfair. I agree with everything you said here.
Ok, well it could have been a perfectly good question, but yahoo may keep track of his/her history of phony questions for easy points. Now, Yahoo is eliminating OPINION questions, like "what do you think...." b/c people can earn points and arguments and such. It has to be a validate question with "HOW do you do this...?" etc....This question may also be removed b/c of suspicion of earny points easily. But yahoo keeps track of phony questioners, so if you're not one of them, don't worry!
i comprehend what you recommend, If Yahoo cared to seem at my previous questions and solutions, they might see that i'm careful what I say with a view to no longer offend all of us. I asked a query asking who hated huge brother as much as I do (i discussed dropping a bomb on the empty residing house, so no killing in touch) It replaced right into a properly-liked question, yet Yahoo deleted it, saying that it wasn't a query. I needless to say asked a query, and made particular that I wasn't hinting on hurting all of us, only demolishing a construction. they are somewhat strict, i think of.
Personally, no, but I've been hearing a lot of questions have been deleted with no warning for some weird reason.
Check this out: I asked who invented the system we use to measure time.... this question was removed for "chatting and personal comunications".... aha... and I saw like 5 min. ago, somebody asked "how old are you", and this question is still there....
i have come to the realization, that this site is full of bulls h i t ...
if they delete something, you have to second guess because they will just tell you that you violated the yahoo community guidelines without mentioning which one. i hope that yahoo should be more specific and tell us why and not just a very broad notice of violation.
i think they just have a program set up so that all someone has to do is report you and it automatically sends you a notice and deletes your stuff. so any troll can go around just reporting stuff
