alright, so I've run into what seems like a big problem with my laptop; here are the details:
-the error in question appears every time I start windows normally and seemed to be triggered by accessing the taskbar, at which point my laptop shuts down in a minute.
-I was able to run safe mode without problems for a time but after multiple system restores (and various attempts with other repair tools for that matter), the error is occurring in that mode as well.
-After updating my sonos audio program was when this error started to appear
-My laptop's OS is windows 7
Is there a way to get my laptop back to an operational state? And if so, how? I am very hesitant to completely wipe my hard drive. If additional details are needed I will provide them.
Update:Scratch the safe mode part, it runs fine in plain safe mode. It's only when I enable networking it acts up.

If you know how to wipe of the hard disk then go for it and reinstall it otherwise if it has a factory restore partition then just factory restore your computer(not to be confused with System Restore) the way the manufacturer designed it!
