if your going for emo then have it cut short in the back but longer in the front and bangs over one eye for across your face. oh, and die it black, the darker the better. if you still want somthing more add a little color. for ideas you can go you youtube and watch slideshows. just type in emo and you'll get all kinds of stuff.

and if none of those work tell your hairstylist you want a faux-hawk but u want to keep length to your hair. it might sound bad but the layer that they cut for the faux-hawk can be worn up or down so u can make your hair look nice for i guess formal occasions

once your done with the cut go home and straighten everything

then the very top layer take your hand and poof the top then put tons of hairspray so it will stay up

If you want emo, I'd just dye it black. But if you want punk, I would do black and pink streaks or something.
