PREMIUM! You'll spend an extra $100 on the hard drive if you go with the core, why not get it included, along with a wireless controller, HD cables, and a headset for Xbox Live?
a huge advantage with premium is that it comes with the hard which is a hundred dollars right there.....
now you might ask....'well why do i need the hard drive when i get just get a cheap memory card'........
well most games (if not all) have the 'update' feature on 'em....so they go through updates numerous times at any given year. memory cards can only handle about 512MB.....so in simple terms......you wont be able to save more then ONE game on it.
if you plan on using xbox live then u cannot do without a hard drive. you get free playable demos, videos, etc from xbox live silver which is free for all....one playable demo game will be around 800MB....so you see where i am going with this.
in my perspective, 360 is useless without a hard drive.
with premium you will also get a wireless controller, HDTV cable ($30+ on ebay) and a free xbox live gold trial card.
not to mention with a hard drive you can connect to your pc wirelessly on your home network and transfer music, videos and pictures to view them on your tv. no way possible without hard drive.
with hard drive you can also connect ipod, zune or pretty much any usb device and transfer data to your hard drive for use on your xbox even while playing the game simultaneously
you will want the premium. its got the harddrive so you can save games. some games have the autosave feature and without the harddrive they will not play.
