Wear them any way and anywhere you want except church. I have worn my white spandex shorts over white briefs and a Polo for errands including the supermarket and exercising with no comments. Once in awhile, I will wear colored/patterned briefs, showing my underwear through the white fabric. Same reactions:none.

Put them on and go do an errand, with tennis shoes and a Polo, to see what the reactions of others may be.
