F = Family, ask him if about that.

O = Occupation, Well, he goes to school. But, what he would like to be.

R = Recreation, What does he like to do? Relate it to something you like as well.

M = Message. In this case your wanting to ask him out. But, hold off on this until you talked to him a few times.

I'd say to first try some investigating, find out that he likes you back, or you wont get a nice answer from him. The best would be to try make eye contact and give him a small smile, flirt with him, and see what he comes back with.
