i want to go to russia and possibly other european countries when i graduate high school, however i will only be 17 and wont turn 18 until november. Can I go alone or do i need someone 18 or older to travel with me? Will airlines treat me as an unaccompanied minor and assign me to a flight attendant like they do to 12 year olds? anything helps
Update:Oh, and will the countries let me in alone? Will a notarized letter from my parents and a passport be enough?

It really comes down to airline policies. Many airlines allow minors to travel with permission from their parents. I do however think you'll have some trouble with Russia. Russia has some pretty intense visa requirements and I wouldn't be surprised if they do not extend invites/visas to unaccompanied minors. You'll also most likely be getting around by train so it will also come down to their policies. Not to mention many hostels, hotels, guesthouses, etc. are very reluctant to rent rooms/beds out to minors. It honestly seems like it would be much more hassle than its worth and you're better off travelling during the off season (when you'll be legal, when things will be cheaper, and when you'll run into fewer tourists), or waiting till the next summer.
In some airlines, if your under 18 you are considered an unaccompanied minor, do all you need to do is go get a letter that is singed by both parents and states that they give you permission to leave the country from what date to what date. Hope this helps!! :)
If you are under 18 you are a minor, so you will be treated as one. As for in the country, no.
nope you just need your passport and if your 16 or 17 they don`t assign one to you
