Hi,my car was not starting this morning. ( -35 outside). I used a battery charger with engine start ( Schumacher brand). I checked my battery with a mechanic and he said cranking amp is only 166 and need to replace battery. My car now starts well. do I really need to replace battery? ( mine is only 1.5 year old). Well your other option would be to check the alternator. And you should be able to get a free replacement for a new battery. Typically warranties on certain battery last up to 3 years for free battery replacement and up to 5 years for credit on a new battery once you pass your 3 year free replacement.
