Alright. I've got a little pesky virus that just won't die. I just got it on my desktop computer yesterday. I copied McAfee Total Protection 2010 on a flash drive and when I try to download it, an error message pops up saying, "The file mc(something or other) will not open, because it's infected."
Is there any other way for me to install the AntiVirus program without seeing that message?
Update:The Antivirus program isn't installed onto my computer. It won't install/no other files won't open up (I can't even adjust my volume's settings.)
Also, if I'm in SafeMode with Networking, will I be able to get on the Internet so I can install AVG or AntiBytes?
Update 3:I installed Malware Bytes, and did a Quick Scan. There were 34 infected objects found, and I got rid of them. After restarting, I STILL keep getting infected file errors. Why is that happening?
I'm scanning with McAfee now, hoping it'll get rid of whatever's left on the PC. But is there anything else I can do to stop the Security Suite from constantly popping up?

Boot your pc into SAFEMODE with networking
Then perform the virus removal
*** ALSO Download and Install - MALWARE ANTI-BYTES onto your computer
UPDATE the Malware Anti-Bytes application
Choose to run FULL SCAN on your Computer
