I just bought the Sony A230 with 4 times zoom, image stabilizer, record videos, great picture quality and you can make slide shows with music in background and smile capture and a ton of other features for $178. If you want a cheaper camera it may not have all the features the camera I mentioned has. If you do decide on a Sony you will have to buy a memory stick. 2gb for around $15.00. Check Amazon. They have a nice selection of digital cameras.
