Paul Pierce unappreciated
He led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002 (and they almost won the series against the Nets !) He continued to carry his team to the playoffs every season after that (except '07 due to injuries) despite receiving virtually no help. Now that he finally gets all-star teammates in KG and Allen, people overlook him and consider KG the MVP of the team. I'm by no means a Celtics fan (I'm a Sixers fan) but I've always considered Pierce the heart and soul of the team. Why does he get no respect?
He's a 6-time All-Star & you can't do nothing but respect that. If that's not enough, the simple fact that his scoring average is only 2nd to Larry Bird oughtta make you a believer.

KG IS the MVP of that team. When he had that success, he didn't have another huge name, but he had great role players. He had Antoine Walker in 2002, and at that time was one of the best players in the NBA, so you can get that out of your mind. He played in enough games in '07, so he should have won more than 24 games. No stat you gives me makes me a believer. His average is 2nd to Bird's, but Bird has 3 rings, Pierce has one and it took to other all stars to get it. Bird had McHale and Parish, but he was the main guy, without him they would not have won it. Paul Pierce is nowhere near the best player in the NBA, especially since he isn't even the best player on his team. Just look, they win nothing with Pierce as the main guy, they get KG, they win. It doesn't need explanation.
im a huge celtics fan and i understand what your saying. people now overlook pierce and look at KG and ray allen. paul stayed with them all those years when they didn't make the playoffs and didn't want to be traded. he's the biggest player for the celtics. he deserves more respect.
caz KG is just better. if they got ray allen just ray allen, they probably improved very little. PLus KG provided defense for the Celtics and rebounds and points. since they had a weak center, kendrick Perkins, they needed KG. if it wasnt for KG, the celtics would have gone a 1st round exit

I hate to say it, but flashing gang signals during a game doesn't help any. And he did get fined $25,000 for it. That kind of garbage doesn't go over well here in the Heartland.
hey, if other team's fans don't appreciate the Truth - WHO CARES?? after watching and appreciating Paul for his entire career, I FULLY comprehend the good fortune we had when drafting him, and HIS patience with ownership and the team when the IDIOTIC Rick Pitino was KILLING the Celtic Mystique...THANKS PAUL and THANKS RED!!

Well, man, you're wrong. Paul Pierce was awarded NBA Finals MVP - he IS appreciated. At least, finally.
