Its been 4 months since i had a baby, Im losing a lot more hair then usually and have gotten 2 bald stops in the front of my hair. Is this normal? Thanks
After my 1st was born I was completely freaked out over my hair. I lost about ½" all around the perimiter of my hairline (it was real itchy and dry too). After about 6 months the hairloss stopped and it has all grown back. I'm hoping not to have that problem with this one!
Postpartum hair loss is very normal. But you shouldn't be getting bald spots. That's a bit much. If you are not nursing, you might be able to take some topical medication to stop the hair loss. Go talk to your OBGYN and also make an appointment with a dermatologist. A good dermatologist is aware of the hormonal changes that take place during and after birth, and will be able to prescribe accordingly.
I did not have bald spots but lost a lot of hair. My bathroom floor would be covered. It is getting a bit better now but I still have quite a bit that comes out......especially after I wash it. I would check with the Dr about the bald spots.
Yes this is normal, it has happened to my wife for each of our three kids. It's one of those little things that everyone forgets to tell you after you have a child.
The woman who cuts her hair recommended Nioxin shampoo and condtioner - it seems to strengthen the follicles a little better. Check with whoever cuts your hair, especially if they've seen lots of new moms.
It will stop eventually, and the new hair will replace it.
It's not from stress. It's from hormones. It's called postpartum alopecia and it's common. I had the hairline of a middle aged man when my babies were four months old, but it grew back. Cutting bangs helped.
Yea, I have heard this is normal. I have a 6 month old and notice a lot more on the floor afte I blow dry my hair. I would talk to a doctor too. My hairdresser is the one that warned me about excessive hair loss....maybe talk to one of them as well? Good luck with your little one!
Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://bitly.im/aLXZD While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.
yup it happened to my sis. she got balding patches that looked like a receeding hairline. she was stressed and breastfeeding twins and lost quite a bit of hair. now the babies are 10 mos old and her hair has grown back and very thick again.
It could be from stress....I had the same problem and my doctor told me it was from stress....I would get quite a few bald spots....thank god they all grew back and I haven't had any in a long time!!

It actually is quite normal. It can be caused from both stress and or hormones absolutely crazy!!
