Assuming there is a socio-economic collapse in progress (hypothetical), what is your loadout?
Primary Weapon?
Caliber?
Sidearm?
Caliber?
Gear?
Let's have some fun playing pretend
Update:Primary Weapon: M1 Carbine, .30 Carbine
Sidearm: S&W Model 15-3, .38 Special
Gear: Leather chest rig, pouches for six 15 round magazines, two 30 round magazines, and 4 .38 Special speedloaders.
(Ammo Count: 165 rounds of .30 Carbine, 30 rounds of .38 Special)
And I didn't ask if you needed a loadout or not, I asked what it would be.

Primary- Suppressed Marlin 795 .22lr rifle with a Simmons 22 mag 3-9 scope
Sidearm- Suppressed Ruger Mark III .22lr
Gear- light, wind and water resistant clothing, Ka Bar USMC knife, fire starter, paracord, water purification pump, etc... and my backpack full of other basic survival gear.
I believe that the .22lr is the best survival round because you can carry WAY more of it than any other caliber, when suppressed it is as loud as a bb gun, makes follow up shots extremely quick. It falls short in stopping power, but well placed shots are more important than caliber. Plus, without the possibility of long term food storage, I'd most likely be hunting small game rather than anything big.
Why would I have to go somewhere else during a collapse? I'd stay right here, I have water in the swamps behind my house to drink, fish to eat, game to shoot, shelter over my head, medical supplies in the closet, and arms and ammo in the safe. I know and trust my neighbors, and I'm related to half the people in the county I live in. We're more than just a community here, we're family.
