My Dream is to learn Martial Arts and not swords but even since my buddy bought me a katana Sword i alwas was some what interested in learning how to learn and use proper way of fighting with swords.
I live in echo Park Near sunset but i no nothing about sword school training lol i dont even know how to hold my katana properly i nearly killed myself cutting targets
It is already hard for me trying to find a real Kungfu Martial Arts Dojo (School) but i dont know if there are fake water down knock offs for Sword Training ?? I would like to avoid *fake* Sword training and get Real Proper Sword Training I mean Martial Arts (kungfu) is for self-defense but Swords.... they were to kill and kill only you dont see people useing swords to cut down trees. So Yes am looking for a sword training school that would teach me how to Kill and defend with a sword ... but am not looking to kill anyone just to learn with full respect its something i wanna do.
Its everybodys dream to master things I want to learn this Please infomation about any school links maybe your own experience would be helpful too! Please leave a comment before you go!

12 miles down Santa Monica Blvd E is UCLA where you can join the Kashima-ryu club and learn several styles (even if you're not a student).
Kashima-ryu is an old authentic style.
For a more 'Sporty' style you can do kendo 13 miles away here>> http://www.wlakendo.org/
In Glendale there's a Korean style school.

I also second Shinkendo as one answer. I know they have a central HQ in California.
Btw, kung fu was originally designed was a system incorporating almost all lethal techniques that were passed around through the family or through word of mouth. After a thousand years and Maoist destruction of Chinese families and martial arts knowledge, you have hidden applications or lost knowledge on this matter. Many kung fu, thus, either don't (can't) teach the lethal applications or hide it in closed systems.
Honbu headquarter dojo for Shinkendo under Obata Kaiso in LA.
