I just bought a new pair of Nike Spikes so that i could sprint better in track. I was screwing in the spikes and then i found one that was flat. At first I thought it was just a dud or something but i found another and i thought maybe i have to put them on the shoes. Does anyone know if i have to, and if i do, where do i screw them in?

If there are two flat spikes, one for each shoe, you should put them into the spikes. They go in the middle hole, farthest back on the spikes. Sort of under the middle of the ball of your foot. This is because that's where your foot lands on the ground when you are sprinting, so you don't need a spike there.
That thing is called a "plug". You put it in when you don't want to use ur spikes. Don't use both at the same time. Stick with the spikes when racing. The plugs keep the holes from getting dirty when the spikes are not in them. I leave my spikes in 24/7. Some indor tracks don't allow you to have spikes, but outdoor ones do.
With your shoes you should have received enough spikes to put in all of the spike locations, plus two blanks. The blanks are typically included because certain tracks/leagues limit the actual number of spikes you can have in your shoe. If you have more spike locations than they allow, you can put blanks in to keep the spike receptacle from getting damaged.
