tv made a loud pop sound?
40inch lcd sharp aquos just made a loud 'pop' sound like a large balloon popped. It's only 3 years old and now it won't turn on. It was storming the other day, we used it but it was working fine then the day after it made a loud pop sound and it won't turn back on. We tried plugging to different outlet but it won't do it. Is it fixable? or should we buy another tv?

I think the fuse blew up inside the TV. It happened to mine and I jus bought a new TV
The chances are good that a electrolytic capacitor failed and should be highly visible (with back off). I suspect if you took it to a professional it could cost you 200USD for a 3USD capacitor. It's possible that your TV would work again if that cap is replaced. It's a good TV. I'd hate to have to throw it away.
My guess is a power supply capacitor. Likely around $200 to fix
