Highly rated vocalist in the Melodic Rock field Matti Alfonzetti had made his name with British Hard Rockers JAGGED EDGE and domestic artists BAM BAM BOYS, WASA EXPRESS and SKINTRADE among others. Alfonzetti had also had experience demoing with TALISMAN.

Upon JAGGED EDGE's demise Alfonzetti travelled back to his homeland to front the Pop-AOR act BOXER for an eponymous album in 1998. He would then assemble the suitably titled ALFONZETTI. Musically the band explored commercial Hard Rock with AOR balladry of distinction.

Joining him for the debut 'Ready' album would be the cream of Swedish Rock in the form of BAM BAM BOYS guitarist Göran Elmqvist, BALTIMORE and SKINTRADE guitarist Stefan Bergström, TREAT and TALISMAN drummer Jamie Borger and even AB/CD's bassist Björn 'Nalle' Påhlsson. Backing vocals would come from the renowned YNGWIE MALMSTEEN frontman Mats Levén and ex-GLORY and SKINTRADE man Jonas Ostman with keyboards in the hands of Jocke Svalberg. The record included a reworking of the JAGGED EDGE track 'Out In The Cold'.

In 2001 Alfonzetti emerged with a brand new band entitled ROOSTER. Personnel included GREAT KING RAT guitarist Anders Fästader, erstwhile THUNDER and GREAT KING RAT bassist Mikael Höglund and Jonas Östman of the YNGWIE MALMSTEEN band.

Alfonzetti took on yet more employment in November of 2001 when he would be announced as new vocalist for DAMNED NATION. A new album, 'Machine', arrived in September 2002.

The singer gained national acclaim in February 2006 with spoof Rock band THE POODLES. This band won one of the four qualifying rounds in Sweden's competition to find an entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest with their '80s styled track 'Night Of Passion', a track co-written by Alfonzetti. THE POODLES in fact comprised a cast of seasoned veterans and involved vocalist Jakob Samuel, of THE RING, TALISMAN and JEKYLL & HYDE, guitarist PONTUS NORGREN, from GREAT KING RAT, DAMAGE DONE, THE RING and TALISMAN, the STEAMROLLER and LION'S SHARE credited bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Christian Lundqvist.

In 2007 Alfonzetti headed up ROAD TO RUIN, a band unit involving GLENN HUGHES band credited musician Sampo Axelsson, LION'S SHARE guitarist Lars Chriss with Thomas Broman, of ELECTRIC BOYS, AUDIOVISION, GLENN HUGHES, the HUGHES TURNER PROJECT and the JOHN NORUM band, on drums.
