I'm an artist and I'm putting together a piece about New York City and need some info. I'm familiar with the city, but would like the perspective of a New Yorker.
(feel free to list as many as you can think of)
What are some of the main street names?
What are some well known neighborhoods/districts?
What are the main/major parks? (In the case of Central Park, are there special areas within it)
What are some popular landmarks/attractions?
In general, I'm looking for the places that "define" NYC in your mind.
Thanks!

Main street names: Broadway, Fifth Ave, Park Avenue, 42nd St, 14th St, Houston, Delancey.
Well known neighborhoods: All depends on your culture. Times Square (obvs), Lower East Side (LES), Chelsea, The Village (West, Greenwich, East).
Parks: Washington Square Park, Central Park (Sheep Meadow, the Ramble, the Reservoir), Riverside Park.
Landmarks: Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, World Trade Center site, Empire State Building. My preferred places to visit: Staten Island Ferry, The Cliff in Central Park. The part of South Street Seaport immediately south of, and next to, the Brooklyn Bridge. City Hall Park.
I believe Mr. threat. Over the previous few years, Little Italy has decreased in length as Chinatown has grown. right this moment, Chinatown has close to to taken over Little Italy. there is a few attempt to maintain basically some blocks of Little Italy on the 2nd, in spite of the undeniable fact that it particularly is approximately it. it is basically a sprint tourist container, with just some ingesting places and cafes left. meanwhile Chinatown has grown pushing previous it somewhat is shaped bounderies. Chinatown is a thriving location at modern. Little Italy isn't. yet they are VERY virtually each and every distinctive (particular, at modern it DOES look like Little Italy is actual IN Chinatown, though it became into as quickly as north of Chinatown.) you need to very actually see them on a similar day.
