So I just bought a compaq presario CQ62-228DX. 2.2GHz AMD V120 Single Core Processor 1600MHz HyperTransport (comparable to FSB), 3GB ram, 160GB hard drive, ATI Radeon 4250 with up to 1405 devoted memory. Then today I saw this Acer for the same price, 2.3GHz Intel Pentium T4500 Dual Core Processor 800MHz FSB, 3GB ram, 250GB hard drive, Intel X4500 graphics card with up to 1695MB devoted memory, built in web-cam and card reader. Now my main concern is the processor and the graphics card. Which computer is better and why? I think mine has a stronger graphics card, but I've heard dual core processors are way faster when applications enable multi-threading. Mine has faster HyperTransport. The web-cam would be a nice feature I guess, but I wouldn't really use it that much. I just bought this laptop last week should I return it for the other one or keep this one?
Update:The one I'm talking about has 3GB ram and 250GB hard drive for $328. Mine has 3GB of ram too and a 160GB hard drive. Which would perform graphically better a single core with a card twice as powerful, or a dual core with a card half as powerful. I don't think I have much choice anyways I got this as a birthday gift. On the bright side mine has an LED display vs LCD which makes it ultraportable (less than 5.5lbs.)

Yeah, the Pentium dual core is way better, yeah though your graphics card is better then intel 4500 but honestly, if you not planning on gaming then a 4500 is fine for watching hd movies and day to day stuff. I'd get the Acer if I were you.
i lately offered an HP pc (HP own's and makes Compaq) and hated it. keys humorous, issues did not artwork. only all round not a comfortable device. I lower back it and then i purchased an Acer at circuit city, and that i love it. Wroks, large, feels large. would not commerce it for something else.
