No, of course it doesn't. Jimmy Fallon may joke about it, but it's not true. Just take a look at some of the winners and some also-rans. Many are minorities. I do think this is the worst season yet, though.

actually, i think american idol tries REALLY hard to make sure they have a mixed group. it always annoys me that they'll let on an indian guy or a chinese guy just because of their race when there are other people who have better voices. once they're on american idol, though, its not the show that has a say in it b/c its the people who are voting them off. so, no, i don't.

I don't know but I remember back when the beat boxer Blake was on and the African women didn't win even though she was better. I think that was how it went. It made me sad. :(
